Baby blackbirds!

This morning I looked out of the studio window and saw the baby blackbird who’s been bobbing about the garden for the past few days. I’ve heard their chattering and watched the male adult feeding them. I assume lady blackbird is sitting on the next lot of eggs as she’s gone awol and left parenting duties to dad.

Well I was watching them this morning when two more baby blackbirds appeared! A trio of cuteness! How lucky was I that they called my garden blackbird HQ!

It’s been really dry here for quite a while so I’ve been keeping them in fresh water and calciworms while the ground is so hard. They’ve certainly been enjoying birdy bathtime!

The starling youngsters have been visiting in force too, and another welcome sight are the numerous sparrow babies blobbling about too! I love this time of year!
