Day 30 of the 30 day challenge!

After seeing other ceramicists and their kilns, I decided that I would look around again to see what was available. I had seen one by Nothern Kilns but it meant an electric job and a long lead time, and seeing Sue’s similar one I thought I’d struggle to fill the space inside.

So. Having looked around I found what would be perfect. A 43L Rohde Ecotop with a top temperature of 1320°C (for stoneware) and works off a 13A plug. That’s the one!!! So looking around I came across CTM in Doncaster. I called them to ask a few questions about it and they told me they’d got stock and it was at a discount price at the moment. Could I fit it in my car? Only one way to find out!!!!

Friday The 13th

Today, as well as being the last day of my challenge, is Friday 13th. I know there’s a lot of superstition surrounding it, about it being unlucky.

In numerology, 13 is associated with producing tangible outcomes in the material world. “Situations that are heavy with the energy of 13 will involve pragmatism, independence, creativity and the ability to set firm foundations for future activity.”

Well, if that’s not a good day to buy a kiln, I don’t know when is.

Animal Confirmation

As I was driving over to Doncaster I was treated to two kestrels riding the wind, and a sparrowhawk in the garden on my return. The sparrowhawk appeared as and when targeted, precise action is required, the kestrels a sign I’m on the right path too.

So I have my very own kiln and I’m off creating! My garage isn’t complete yet but I can work around it whilst I finish it off. I’m so excited and happy about my decision. Who’d have thought at the start of the 30 day challenge I’d end up here!

It's amazing what you can fit in my car!
