I usually make these little guys outdoors in the fresh air – I can enjoy watching the birds – who are watching me making birds! It’s truly my happy place and I hope to pass on the love and joy to you through them.
Designed to be held and loved, each Wren starts as a lump of clay which I shape and form by hand.

About this Wren Sculpture
Wrens…little Jenny Wren. The smallest bird with the loudest voice! I adore watching the Wrens in my garden – it’s like they’re moving in stop-motion. Their shrill calls announce their location long before I spot their tiny little brown form with their flagpole tails.
This is the tiny version of the little ceramic Wren I make. She’s small but mighty, just like the real thing.
Why choose this piece?
Each one of these little characters comes out of the kiln with their own personality – some look like they’re plotting their next fishing adventure, while others seem to be having a bit of a daydream. I’ve kept them nice and smooth, perfect for holding and stroking (go on, you know you want to!). There’s something really lovely about having a peaceful moment with your coffee and a kingfisher in hand.
