Hidden amongst the tree roots along the river bank, lounging around in his holt home is this male otter.
He’s enjoying the sleepy feeling that comes from having had a jolly good fish dinner.
Something has stirred him from his slumber, but he can’t be bothered with it, and soon after lifting his head, he lays it back down to snooze.
It’s probably for the best to keep his head down, as some fishermen don’t take kindly to sharing their river with a fish-eating otter.
If he stays quiet, maybe even the men out hunting mink (despite it being men who released them) with their dogs will pass him by.
