Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust Fundraiser

We are beyond excited to reveal a very special lapwing sculpture that has been created by renowned sculptor and Trust member Sarah Brabbin, to raise money for our Ughill Farm appeal 🤩 – Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust

After hearing about the Ughill farm project at their AGM, I wanted to play a little part in raising some funds to meet their target in order to guarantee ownership of the farm. The habitat of the farm is precious and they plan to test and learn nature-friendly farming principles and ensure that the wildlife flourishes.

The auction is now live and you can place a bid to get your hands on this exclusive sculpture until Sunday 17th December.

Made from stoneware ceramic with an eye-catching metallic glaze, she weighs in at 3.5 kg and is 30 cm tall. Built using the ancient coil technique of creating height through coiling clay, she was bisque fired to 1050°C. Once cool she was brushed with a metallic glaze and fired to 1245°C. (Like any ceramics, due to their organic nature, she isn’t frost-proof)

The auction is now closed but the lapwing raised a wonderful £400 towards the project!
