Caring Crows

I love crows. One of the most magical things I've experienced in the wild is the fly-past my house which happens every now and then at dawn and dusk.

Standing in the garden, thousands of chatting Crows and Jackdaws fly over my head as they make their way to trees to roost. It's an incredible spectacle, their inky black silhouettes contrasting against the multi-coloured sky.

I always ask them "is it birdy bedtime?" as they fly over to settle down together for the night, talking to each other about what their day was like and what tomorrow will bring. In the morning I always greet them with a cheery "good morning" as I wish them well on their way.

I've held one who had sadly passed away at my parent's house, the colours in their feathers was like staring into another universe - the blues and purples, irridescently gleaming amongst the glossy black. Just stunning, intelligent birds.
